Causby Karate Academy has been serving the Denver and Lake Norman community since 2008. With students as young as 3 years old all the way up to students in their 70s and all ages in between, our studio is available to practically anyone in our area that is interested in improving themselves through martial art training. We are honored when new students choose to join our studio, giving us the opportunity to get to know them and invest in their growth and development.
Our kids programs are separated by ages into three groups - Grasshoppers (ages 3-5), Tigers/Dragons (ages 5-8), and Youth Karate (ages 8-14).
Adults (ages 14+) can choose to train in one or more arts including Hapkido (a practical self defense martial art), Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (submission grappling), or Tang Soo Do (traditonal Korean karate).
Our Chief Instructor is Master Stephanie Causby who has been training in martial arts for 30+ years, holding a Master rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Master Ben Causby has also been training over 20 years and holds a Master rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, a provisional Black Belt in Hapkido, and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Not only have the Causbys traveled extensively around the world to learn from the best martial artists on the planet, they have also made a huge effort to learn from some of the worlds leading experts on the process of educating students. It is one thing to know how to perform a technique, and it is another to be able to share those details with students that have different learning styles.
